Bamburgh to Craster - 2nd May

A few words from Beth who will be leading this walk:

Parking is at the public car park in Craster. It costs £2 to park all day. There are loads of parking spaces and public loos. The machine only takes coins so bring some with you as there isn't really anywhere nearby to get change.

The April 18th timetable has been released and the bus still leaves Craster at 10.44 am. The bus station is about 5 mins walk from the car park. A single bus ticket from Craster to Bamburgh costs £4.20.

I sussed the walk last Monday. It's pretty flat but you are walking on soft sand and beaches at times, so it makes it quite challenging on the legs (also the length). Therefore, if you aren't used to walking distances this might be one to skip. However, we can see how people feel on the day (and what the weather is like) because the bus stops at all the villages along the route so it is very easy to make this walk a bit shorter if people wish by getting off at Seahouses or Beadnell.

Also, the advantage of this route is that it calls through several villages on the way, so you don't need to carry a helluva lot of water as you can top up as you go.

There is a really nice coffee shop in Craster at the end of the walk to there will be caffeine and sugar to re-fuel you after the monster trek.
