Membership

Most of our published walks are intended primarily for members. Non-members are welcome to join us as guests on two or three walks. If you decide to walk with the group regularly you will be expected to join.

Membership is by joining the Ramblers. Follow the Join link on the Ramblers Web Site to join online. You will need to enter 'Darlington Dales and Hills - NY8' in the Group box on the form. At the moment membership is £27 per year for individuals. Details of discounts are available on the Ramblers website. If you are unable to join online then a walk leader or committee member can provide you with a form.

Why Join?

By becoming a member you help support the Ramblers work to...

- Protect Britain's Unique network of public paths

- Increase access for walkers

- Protect the countryside

- Promote walking for health and pleasure

In addition to the satisfaction of supporting this work membership includes the following benefits.

Membership of your local group (that's us) at no extra cost.

Walk - A quarterly magazine packed with gear and book reviews, stunning photography and celebrity columnists.

Walk Britain's Great Views - The Ramblers' new walks guide, featuring hand-picked routes to Britain's top fifty viewpoints.

Discretionary discounts - at many outdoor stores, including 10% off at Millets and Blacks.

Map Library  - The chance to borrow from the Ramblers extensive Ordnance Survey map collection, for a very small fee.

Additionally most of the the group's discussion forum is only accessible to members. This makes it much more useful for making arrangements as members can post information that they would not wish to make publicly available.
